USA – Memorial Day 2021

In the United States, Memorial Day occurs on the last Monday of May.  This special day we remember those who have died in active military service.  This is not to be confused with Veteran’s Day (which is observed on November 11th of each year).

The key difference is this: Memorial Day honors those who died while actively serving in the United States military; Veteran’s Day honors the service of all those who have served (past tense, still living or deceased) in the United States Armed Forces…not active duty personnel.

I am service-connected disabled veteran of the U. S. Air Force.  Memorial Day is especially sacred because those men and women died to protect the very freedoms I enjoy.
